When a national casual dining restaurant required a Point of Sale technology refresh they realized that the field services requirements would require both high and low voltage trades as well as the skills necessary to decommission, turn up and test the new POS system.  The company desired that the work would be done overnight with full store operation the next day.  Installation consisted of (8) NCR POS, (1) NCR Console, (5) POS Printers, (1) WAP, (2) Charging Stations, (9) Shelfs & electrical circuits.

Plan

Consult with Customer to develop an accelerated schedule.

A deployment plan was developed to enable multi-trade teams to complete the technology refresh on an overnight basis.

Work was scheduled with a 60 day deployment goal.

Deploy

Centralized Staging: assembly and imaging of all components, kitting per station and shipped to arrive on day of install.  WAP SSID and Passcodes were set per Customer Centralized Engineering Requirements.

Decommission: retired systems were decommissioned, packed and sent for final wipe by customer.

Installation: Cable was tested for TIA compliance and repaired if necessary. New cable was installed, color coded, dressed and tested as required.  Shelving was installed to support printer requirements.  Quad Electrical Outlets were installed to isolated 20 amp circuit breakers. All Cable and Electrical was dressed and concealed.  POS Terminals and Printers were placed and connected.  Ceiling mounted WAP installed to replace existing.

Run

LAN and WAN tested for device communications. Printers tested.

POS was tested with customer software support centralized operations.

Each station and components were photo documented with serial number and model data.

Project documentation completed and sent to customer.

Final acceptance.
